“Owning” the other side is not patriotism, it is a distraction
What was once the act of governing our nation as one people, has largely become sport like and tribalistic. This hatred and division is intentional by the two political parties. Every year the Democratic and Republican politicians serve their large donors more and more, and us regular folks less and less. Their strategy to keep screwing us over, is to make us hate each other so much, that we become distracted from what really matters.
What really matters is implementing common sense solutions that help every day Americans. Solutions that are grounded in truth and good faith. We find that bad faith sensationalism has largely engulfed public discourse, leading to larger division. In our opinion, MSNBC and Fox News are the worst offenders and behave largely as propaganda arms of the Democratic and Republican parties respectively. Journalism cannot be allowed to masquerade opinion as fact. Reality matters, not spin. Rank partisanship is worsening the divide between us.
The ultra far left and right political ideologies are not what most Americans think is reasonable and responsible. For the majority of us non-political actors, all we want is a fair shake at life, a country that gives a damn about our needs, loved ones we can share our lives with, and a bit of happiness along the way. Don’t allow the extreme talking heads deceive you into believing your fellow countrymen are your enemies. It is the politicians ransacking this country, on both sides, that are to blame.

This reaction is by design. The two parties have waged a war of misinformation and you might be a casualty. We suggest looking for different perspectives and outlets. Some news aggregation sites do a decent job of showing bias like Ground News.
But everyone I know is on the same side, how do I leave without losing my friends and family?
We hope that you can tell them that you’re joining us at the Anti-Corruption Party and finding a new political home. They might not understand right away, but at least it won’t be a betrayal of “going to the enemy team.” Anyone that is respectful, reasonable, and acts in good faith is welcome here.
How can you say this, the other side is crazy?
The “other side” has been vilified intentionally by the most extreme voices aiming to sow discord. Truth is not subjective and there are no such things as “alternative facts.” We must agree on what reality is again, or we can never get anywhere.
How am I supposed to get along with someone I once hated on the other side?
It takes guts to try to make amends, but maybe it starts with a beer and honest conversation about what we all want out of life. We promise, people aren’t really that different from one another. Join us and find out.
