Grandma being able to retire peacefully is not a Ponzi scheme

The war on earned benefit plans in this country has been going on since before their enactment. These days, that war is at a breaking point. Our earned benefit plans are nearly destroyed, everything but in the letter of the law only. This is a travesty of justice. We hard working people of this nation, have paid in to these programs for decades of our working lives. Now, rich billionaire cowards who don’t need it, don’t understand it, and don’t want it, are destroying it.

Social security will only run out of some of the money to pay out benefits, if, we do nothing. Currently there is a cap on the income allowed to be subject to social security tax. That number is $176,100 for 2025. We need to simply remove that cap and move on from ever hearing these bad faith arguments again.

Medicare and Medicaid need to be protected and funded. We as a nation, have decided that we want to help our fellow citizens that have had misfortune befall them. We find the thought of people dying from curable diseases disgusting, simply because they are too poor, or disabled. It is sickening thinking of how greedy and feckless someone has to be, to take healthcare away from dying and retired people. This is OUR government, not some billionaire’s playhouse. Elon deserves to be behind bars for what he is doing with DOGE.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I pay for someone else’s healthcare?

Because we are nation of people who are committed to one another. We would help you if you became disabled and not want to see you suffer. We expect reciprocation.

Isn’t Social Security bankrupting America?

No. The plan is paid for by regular working people as an extra deduction from their pay checks. We just need to remove the income cap and it will be funded forever.

Are you for Medicare for all?

Yes and no. We want universal healthcare, though we want to do it right, so we don’t have to repeat hard fought battles. We would have to look at specifics to have an opinion.

Are you for Social Security for all, or Freedom Dividend?

With AI rapidly progressing its abilities, we could see a need in the future for such a thing. If most jobs are eliminated, there would need to be a way to have basic needs met. Right now, no.
